BEAUTY | 3 STEPS to FINDING your FACE SHAPE !

A lot has been said and written about face shapes.
But something that is often overlooked is that  EVERY FACE SHAPE IS BEAUTIFUL!

I'm not just saying this because this is an inside-out beauty blog. And I'm not the only one who believes this to be true. In fact, in the Fashion and Beauty industries as well as in Hollywood, there are so many  models and celebrities all equally stunning, and yet, with different face shapes.

I can read your mind girls.  Right this second you're asking yourselves: "So if all face shapes are equal in beauty, why is Heidi writing a post about how to determine our face shapes?".

Well, the reason is that knowing our face shapes will save us a lot of time, money and headaches! Once we know what we have, we can learn how to make the most out of it.  And, for instance, we'll be able to make all beauty and fashion choices a lot easier.  We will also know how to contour, accessorize or pick the right haircut or the glasses that are more flattering for us.

In a nutshell, we'll basically know a little more about what works for us, and that's always helpful!

So, let's determine our face shapes together, shall we?

STEP 1! Measure your face.  Is your face longer than it is wider?   By how much?

STEP 2!  Look at your jawline.  Is your jawline round, square or pointed?

STEP 3!  Examine your hairline.  Is your forehead wide or narrow?

Got your answers on paper?  Now, keep reading to find your closest match!

Heart:

  1. Your face is a little longer than it is wider.
  2. Your jawline is pointed and your chin is the smallest point of your face. (Imagine a triangle flipped upside down on one point).
  3. Your hairline is wide.

Oval:
  1. Your face is slightly longer than it is wider.
  2. Your jawline is a little bit rounded.
  3. Your hairline may be not so wide and not so narrow, but still slightly wider than your chin.

Long or Oblong:

  1. Your face is a lot longer than it is wide. ( Think of a longer Oval face).
  2. & 3. Your hairline, cheeks and jawline are all be pretty much the same width.

Square:

  1. Your face is nearly as wide as it is long.
  2. Your jawline is square, with only a minimal curve.
  3.  Your hairline is almost as wide as your jawline.

 Triangular:

  1. Your face is slightly longer than it is wider
  2. Your jawline is pointed.
  3. Your hairline is a lot wider than your jawline.

Diamond:

  1. Your face is slightly longer than it is wider and your cheekbones will be your face's widest point.
  2. Your jawline is pointed.
  3. Your hairline is narrower than your jawline.

Round:

  1. Your face is nearly as wide as it is long, but your cheekbones are the widest part of your face.
  2. Your jawline is rounded. ( Think of a square but with rounded angles).
  3. Your hairline is almost as wide as your jawline.

I think I have a mix between a Diamond and an Oval shaped face...   What's YOUR face shape?
