Hi my Inside-Out Beauties!

It's almost the end of July, and I haven't made that many food posts so far.  So I thought I'd do a recap in instagram pictures... or foodstagrams!  For some reason when I'm eating something I really enjoy or that looks really good, it ends up on my Instagram.  I really just can't help it.

So, here we go with July's Foodstagrams.  First one is coffee!  I know this won't sound very original, but I need my morning coffee.  I'm not a morning person, and if I don't have a cup first thing in the morning I can barely interact with another human being :-/  Coffee is that bad habit I picked up during my University years... and it's hard to let go of it now.  I don't have a picture here, but I've been having my coffee with yogurt and oatmeal.

Lots of sandwiches for lunch in the last month!   My husband makes the best sandwiches ever girls. Here are 2 of my favorites.   First,  leberwurst cucumbers and pita bread.  I call this German sandwich.

But my all time favorite is this smoked salmon, arugula and Philadelphia cheese sandwich in black pita bread with sesame seeds.  OMG!  Every time I describe it I find it even more delicious!

Tea Time

In the afternoon, around 4 or 5 pm, I usually have mate or, sometimes, we go out for a quick coffee break with my husband.  If you don't know what mate is, here's a post where I explain in more detail.

In my country we have dinner really really late, in comparison to North American or European countries.  Usually around 8-9 pm or later.  I know that's not the healthiest thing, but nobody is back from work before 7 or 8 pm, so it actually makes sense to us.   In the evening, I love eating omelet because it's a light.  This one is a very tasty cheese and mushroom omelet !  Yum!

This month, we also had grilled cheese and tomatoes for dinner.  It was so crunchy, and with the freshness of those tomatoes... it tasted almost like pizza!

Other times, we have meat.  This was tenderloin with sun dried tomatoes!  Red meat is a little too much for this time of the day, but it certainly is delicious :)

Last but not least, this month I started having some very strong cravings for something really unusual in me:  Bree cheese and grapes!  I've NEVER had something like this before, but lately I feel the urge to eat this quite frequently.  And what's worse, I don't know anyone else who likes this.  Do you?

So I'm curious to know, is this very different from what you would eat where you live?

  1. Haha I usually have omelettes in the morning since I consider it a breakfast food! But everything else is quite similar except that I eat dinner closer to 6 than 8!

  2. Your blog is lovely!!!! Would you like to follow each other on bloglovin' ? xxx

  3. Eggs are generally considered more of a breakfast thing in the US, and we eat dinner super early compared to the rest of the world, but other than that, a day of eating for me looks pretty similar to yours.

  4. Thanks Amy! I sometimes have eggs for breakfast too. But in Argentina, mornings are more of a "sweet" meal. Meaning, a typical family would have toasts and jam, cereals and yogurt or croissants with coffee.

  5. Thanks Kayla :) I know! I picked up the habit of eating eggs in the morning from time to time, from my trips abroad. It's not that frequent here though. Eating late is a bad habit, but it's something cultural too. Like weddings... here weddings start at 8pm and we celebrate until 8 am! I really like how each culture has its own thing.

  6. Beautiful food pictures Amy! The coffee (I completely understand how it is a bad habit!), smoked salmon sandwich, and omlette all looks divine!

How funny that you have written a post about this because I have just done a similar one showing what I eat. The omlette looks really tasty, I love them with a smoked salmon filling - the sandwich looks tasty and healthy too! Have a great weekend.

  8. That's such a great coincidence Colleen! I'll go check that out right now :)
